What if YOU woke up one morning in the middle of the OCEAN!

Here's a fun story prompt that I have written a short story on...

What if you woke up one morning in the middle of the ocean

I stretched and yawned as I fluttered my eyes open to feel the warm sun shining on my face, I could hear the soft sound of the waves near the beach, I heard the seagulls cawing and the breathed in the salty air

I blinked a couple of times, I grumbled as I reached for my spectacles and SPLOOSH! Landed head first into cold… cold 🥶water!

I gasped and looked around me, I wasn't staring at my ocean wallpaper, I was staring at the ocean!!

I swam and grabbed my bed still floating above, I flung myself up and closed my eyes, hoping it would all fade away

As I sat wondering how I got here a sudden thought hit my head….

I was free from school!

There were no assignments, projects or annoying alarms waking me up!

Aaah... I lied back on my bed and breathed the air of fresh freedom!!

The hours passed as I waited for my clothes to dry by lounging on my bed, not wondering what to do as I usually would

My stomach grumbled and I frowned realizing I had no food I looked around, upset to not find any sign of land…. But then an idea struck me!

I always kept food in my bed cabinets in the hope of a midnight snack 🕛🌃🍔! So I opened one of them and gasped in awe at the packets of candy, bags of chips and airtight packets of tacos and dry fruits... All from the previous night

I dug in until my stomach was about to burst! I got up on top of my bed and dived into the waters below, growing up near a beach I knew how to swim even without equipment, but as I went inside, darkness surrounded me as shadows of tiny fish passed by

I glided along until my toes turned blue and I climbed up on my bed… shivering

My covers... Now drenched were just as cold as I felt...

I lay in bed, now parched and wished to be rescued and just I thought I lost hope, I heard the roaring sound of a helicopter above me, I jumped and waved my arms, hoping they would notice and soon a ladder dropped below, I climbed and went inside to see my parents looking worried and tired but relieved at the same time

As I cuddled close and we flew back to our island I wondered... How did I get here?
